Technical Program Manager (energy Storage)

xAI is seeking a Technical Program Manager to scale the development, deployment, operation, and continuous improvement of energy systems powering its rapidly expanding datacenter and aerospace infrastructure. The role focuses on energy storage and power systems, requiring program management skills to translate technical work into clear priorities, actionable plans, and measurable outcomes. The TPM will align stakeholders, establish operating mechanisms, support commissioning, and create visibility into program status, risks, and dependencies. Experience with battery storage systems and Tesla Megapacks is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Execute on energy infrastructure engineering programs, with an initial focus on energy storage and power systems supporting data center infrastructure.
  2. Establish and maintain program structure by translating complex technical work into clear priorities, actionable plans, and measurable outcomes.
  3. Align stakeholders across engineering, operations, and infrastructure teams, external partners, and company leadership.
  4. Establish and maintain operating mechanisms, documentation standards, knowledge management and program tracking systems.
  5. Support commissioning, energization readiness, and post-deployment continuous improvement efforts by identifying and resolving blockers.

Skills

Required

  • 1+ years of experience working on projects related to battery storage systems.
  • 1+ years of experience deploying Tesla Megapacks.

Nice to have

  • Direct experience with energy storage systems (e.g., Megapack), power electronics, or high-voltage infrastructure deployments.
  • Background in data center or hyperscale environment program management.
  • Familiarity with commissioning, energization, and operational handover processes.
  • Track record of building and improving program management systems, documentation standards, and knowledge management practices.
