Technical Program Manager II for YouTube Resource Management, responsible for planning and provisioning global fleet resources (compute, networking, storage) to meet product demands while balancing cost objectives. This role involves forecasting, managing resource growth, leading efficiency efforts, and partnering with engineering teams to build scaling tools. Experience with data analytics, distributed systems, and potentially ML infrastructure is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead complex projects by working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage schedules, identify risks, and communicate with cross-functional partners. Analyze usage trends and partner with engineers to estimate and acquire resources for feature launches while adhering to financial objectives.
  2. Act as process owner for internal TPU allocations, working with executive engineering leadership to ensure our TPUs are deployed in alignment with YouTube's key priorities. Triage resource-requests to fund new launches, system migrations, and infrastructure projects while maintaining appropriate supply buffers.
  3. Become a subject-matter-expert and consultant on technical and financial trade-offs in data-center resource management.
  4. Partner with YouTube Resource Management engineering to design and build tooling to help scale the planning process.
  5. Identify, communicate, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders within one or more teams to drive impact and work toward mutual goals.
