Technical Program Manager II for Amazon's Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Data-Tech team. This role leads cross-organizational workstreams for data and technology initiatives, partnering with product, data engineering, software development, and data science teams. Responsibilities include driving strategy implementation, assessing risks, balancing business needs with technical constraints, and transforming technical concepts into documentation. The role coordinates across domains like data pipelines, analytics, generative AI, computer vision, and web/mobile technologies, aiming to reduce workplace risks and injuries.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead and manage cross-functional programs and projects from inception to completion across multiple engineering teams (data engineering, software development, and data science), ensuring delivery of high-quality, efficient, secure, testable, and maintainable solutions with minimal defects
  2. Own program status communication by consistently delivering clear and concise summaries to leadership and management teams, effectively answering detailed questions about program progress and outcomes
  3. Partner with technical teams to drive execution of strategic initiatives spanning data infrastructure, analytics solutions, AI/ML applications, and software products
  4. Proactively assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, navigate tradeoffs, and balance business needs against technical constraints across both data and technology workstreams
  5. Transform raw thoughts and complex technical concepts into clear, consistent, and accurate technical documentation and direction

Skills

Required

  • 3+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 3+ years of analytical, quantitative, communication, and presentations experience
  • 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design
  • Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field

Nice to have

  • 3+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
