Technical Program Manager - Learning & Development

This role is for a Technical Program Manager focused on Learning and Development within the Engineering, Product, and Design organization at New Relic. The primary responsibility is to create and lead technical training and development initiatives, with a specific focus on onboarding new hires. This includes maintaining and updating onboarding programs, working with subject matter experts to develop content, managing onboarding channels, tracking program success metrics, and administering the Learning Management System (LMS).

What you'd actually do

  1. Maintain and update technical onboarding programs and enable our new hires with the foundational technical knowledge, processes, skills and people connections to ensure success in their roles.
  2. Work with subject matter experts to edit course content leveraging video, Articulate Rise, or other learning design software as needed
  3. Facilitate and support all new hire onboarding slack channels, completions, questions, etc.
  4. Work with leaders to ensure timely completion of onboarding programs
  5. Work collaboratively with Leaders and Subject Matter Experts within the assigned area to establish meaningful and worthwhile learning experiences that build core competencies and technical skills.

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of proven experience working with software development teams as a technical program manager
  • 2+ years of equivalent experience in implementing Learning and Development practices for highly technical teams.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) implementation and system administration

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, instructional design, learning & development, or related field, or equivalent experience

  • Experience using course development software
  • Can anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
