Technical Program Manager for Optical Components at Apple in Shenzhen. This role focuses on driving the technical, operational, and quality aspects of optical manufacturing processes for new product introductions through mass production. Responsibilities include working with suppliers and internal teams to improve yield and efficiency, managing factory setup for various optical processes, providing executive-level reports, and using predictive methods to anticipate and resolve issues. Requires a BS/MS in Engineering and 5+ years of high-tech manufacturing experience.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work with suppliers and internal multi-functional teams, exhibiting leadership to drive yield, efficiency, and other target production metrics.
  2. Areas of ownership include factory set-up of associated optical manufacturing, including molding, coating , Assembly, and Test processes.
  3. Executive-level status reports including build readiness review, new product review, etc.
  4. Drive lessons learned into designs and use predictive methods to anticipate and avoid issues early in the development cycle.
  5. Call out key concerns and options timely for resolutions to senior management.

Skills

Required

  • BS or MS in a related Engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in the high-tech industry
  • strong foundation in manufacturing processes

Nice to have

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools like Tableau, JMP, SPC, DOE
  • quality control methods, including Root Cause Analysis, 8D, 5 Whys, and FACA
  • Demonstrated leadership in driving problem-solving initiatives
  • ability to influence and collaborate across teams
  • Significant experience in introducing products into manufacturing and/or high-volume production
  • Asia-based manufacturing suppliers
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • proven track record of presenting complex information clearly to large cross-functional teams and executives
