Technical Specialist - Suspension Systems

Ford is seeking a Technical Specialist for Suspension Systems to lead global suspension and steering system integration from concept through launch. This role involves connecting chassis systems modeling to component development, establishing strategies for off-road variants, and ensuring robust component performance. The specialist will own DFMEA, system requirements, and interface with manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include leading system analysis for root cause identification, assisting in vehicle development plans, and acting as a go-to for system problem-solving. The role also involves leading system-level integration of advanced active suspension systems and guiding the development of next-generation chassis technologies.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead system analysis for root cause identification and confirmation for vehicle testing, significant warranty or field issues, and manufacturing process issues.
  2. Assist in establishing overall vehicle development plans based on cascaded system attribute targets being the primary system contact for vehicle dynamics, vehicle NVH, road load team, and vehicle durability team.
  3. Assist with the deep dive, root cause identification, and development of robust 8D’s at a system level.
  4. Go-To for System Problem Solving – Launch, Recall, Quality / Field Issues, DV/PV Issues
  5. Lead System-Level Integration: Direct the system-level development and integration of advanced active suspension systems, including ECU development, sensor integration, and electronically controlled dampers.

  • BS-Engineering
  • 10 years of experience
  • 6+ years in suspension related components and commodities
  • System and component engineering design & release experience
  • Chassis architecture performance characteristics
  • Vehicle, system, and component durability validation methods
