Technical Support Engineer

Sentry Sentry · Enterprise · San Francisco, CA · Support

This role focuses on engineering an AI-native technical support system, combining human expertise with autonomous agentic systems. The engineer will develop deterministic support paths, build knowledge into AI systems, and create agentic tooling using internal APIs and LLM orchestration (RAG, context windows, system prompts). The goal is to create an 'Autonomous Resolution Engine' for technical support.

What you'd actually do

  1. Engineer the logic that powers our support agents, moving beyond probabilistic guesses to high-fidelity, autonomous resolutions.
  2. Build the right context into our systems so they can resolve issues consistently and indefinitely.
  3. Use MCP (Model Context Protocol) and Sentry’s internal APIs to build "skills" for our agents, allowing them to perform complex lookups or state-checks autonomously.
  4. Perform root-cause analysis on complex issues and distributed tracing gaps across polyglot environments.
  5. Serve as the bridge between the world's best developers and our product teams, using data from your systems to prioritize high-impact platform fixes.
