Verkada is seeking a Technical Support Engineer for a 12-month industrial placement. The role involves troubleshooting complex issues with Verkada's AI-powered IoT platform (video security, access control, etc.), providing best practices to enterprise clients, collaborating with Engineering and Product teams, and creating knowledge base content. The ideal candidate is a university student pursuing a technical degree with a focus on networking, Linux, and programming, possessing strong problem-solving and communication skills.

What you'd actually do

  1. Solve complex network, hardware, and software issues for the Verkada platform
  2. Provide customers with best practices for system design and integration
  3. Clearly explain technical concepts to customers both verbally and in writing
  4. Take charge of customer issues from start to finish, ensuring a successful resolution
  5. Collaborate with our Engineering and Product teams to test new products and identify bugs

Skills

Required

  • University students seeking a Sandwich year / Industrial Placement
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related technical discipline: Networking, Telecommunications, Systems Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Cybersecurity
  • Coursework with a focus on computer networking, Linux, computer systems, Python or other coding language
  • Ability to communicate complex technical matters both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work within a team environment

Nice to have

  • Industry certifications are a plus: CCNP, CCNA, CCENT, CCDA, CWNP, CWNA, MCSE, CEH, Network+, Security+, A+
