Technical Support Engineer Intern (summer 2026)

Cloudflare is seeking a Technical Support Engineer Intern to assist customers with technical inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to product improvement. The role involves collaborating with engineers, tracking support requests, creating documentation, and testing new releases. Interns will gain hands-on experience with Cloudflare's products and internet technologies.

What you'd actually do

  1. Collaborate with senior engineers to analyze and troubleshoot customer issues
  2. Track support requests using our ticketing system
  3. Participate in team meetings to discuss and share feedback
  4. Help create and update technical documentation and run books
  5. Provide feedback on our product and potential improvements based on customer interactions

Skills

Required

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in a Computer Sciences or related field
  • Self-driven and capable of learning new technologies/systems/features with some guidance
  • Fundamental understanding of how the Internet works (OSI Model)
  • Experience using Linux
  • Experience in command line and tools, including curl, dig, traceroute, openssl and git
  • Experience writing scripts in Bash, Python, JavaScript, or other scripting languages
  • Awareness of what DNS, SSL/TLS and HTTP is and how these function
  • Awareness of or experience installing and configuring web servers like Apache, Nginx, and IIS
  • Must be able to work 40 hours a week
  • Must be able to commit to a 12 week program

Nice to have

  • Experience troubleshooting network connectivity issues, BGP routing, and GRE tunnels
  • Familiar with Cloudflare and have a site actively using our platform
  • Fluent and can troubleshoot in Mandarin, Spanish, and Portuguese
