MongoDB is seeking a Technical Writer for their Drivers Documentation team. This role involves creating world-class documentation for MongoDB's developer-focused products, including Drivers and Connectors. The writer will work closely with engineering and product teams, research functionality, validate features through testing, and develop sample applications and code examples. The goal is to empower developers by providing best-in-class documentation for building various applications. The company emphasizes its role in the AI era and its support for AI-native startups.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work with technical and non-technical teams to meet the documentation needs of our users
  2. Research functionality and features and validate it through testing
  3. Develop sample apps & code examples to help users kickstart their projects or refresh themselves on syntax
  4. Write documentation for MongoDB [Drivers](https://www.mongodb.com/docs/drivers/) and [Connectors](https://www.mongodb.com/docs/tools-and-connectors/#connectors). MongoDB develops many official drivers and connectors that users rely on every day
  5. Develop tools that help us create and maintain content

Skills

Required

  • 3+ years of combined experience in one or more of the following roles: technical writer, developer advocate, and/or software engineer
  • Experienced with developing and shipping modern line-of-business applications OR has extensive experience contributing to complex documentation sites, preferably in a docs-as-code environment
  • Experienced with using great developer documentation and educational materials
  • Experienced with and enjoys deep investigations of new technical concepts plus teaching others what you’ve learned
