Technical Writer for a defense technology company that builds AI-powered systems. The role focuses on creating and maintaining user documentation for hardware and systems, ensuring operators can effectively use Anduril products. This includes technical manuals, operational guides, and release notes, with a focus on meeting contract deliverables and potentially adhering to military documentation standards.

What you'd actually do

  1. Generate, review, and edit documentation that is user-focused. Work with engineering and operations to deliver task, conditions, standard-centric documentation
  2. Evaluate and prioritize tasks required to successfully support product documentation efforts and keep them on track. Help drive the best decision for the company by using a data-driven approach and consider input from stakeholders to ensure well-informed decisions.
  3. Communicate and help manage expectations. Ensure risks are noted with adequate time, and shared with leadership.
  4. Help build a culture of technical documentation by contributing to the living documentation process, ensuring that those that come after you learn from your acquired Anduril experience.

Skills

Required

  • 4+ years of demonstrated excellence generating technical documentation
  • Experience writing technical user-facing documentation
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering documentation
  • Experience building content in a variety of formats (Word, XML, etc)
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance

Nice to have

  • Military exposure and experience, particularly with military technical documentation writing and formatting standards, guidelines, and verbiage (MIL-STD-40051, S1000D, etc)
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with emphasis on technical subjects
  • Passion for excellent documentation and user experience
  • Previous experience creating technical documentation in Aerospace and Defense (for DoD)
  • Experience delivering content on fast-paced, complex projects with multiple stakeholders
