This role focuses on quality control and inspection within a manufacturing environment, involving the use of tools, microscopes, and software to analyze and document data related to joining technologies in vehicles. It requires experience in manufacturing, quality, and data entry, with a focus on ensuring product quality and continuous improvement.

What you'd actually do

  1. Operate air, power, and hand tools such as bandsaw, belt sanders and engravers to prepare or cut out cross section samples of various types of joining technologies
  2. Use of microscopes to take cross sectional images of welds, self-piercing rivets, flow drill screws etc.
  3. Organized computer data entry helping to maintain organized files and drives to ensure proper data storage
  4. Accurately measuring cross sections using Keyence VHX software to Rivian Specifications.
  5. Accurately document and report data in Excel and report to internal customers results using Jira

Skills

Required

  • Welding, fabrication, metal working, or weld inspection experience
  • Laboratory equipment experience
  • High-volume manufacturing or quality experience
  • Problem solving experience
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, email
  • Statistical process control / control charts
  • Destructive or non-destructive inspection or testing experience
  • Kaizen / continuous improvement process experience
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Ability to stand for 8-12 hours per day
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds
