Chewy is seeking a Telemedicine Veterinarian II to provide virtual care for small animals, focusing on diagnosing, prescribing, and treatment planning while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws for establishing the veterinary-client-patient-relationship (VCPR).

What you'd actually do

  1. Deliver a high standard of care and adhere to practice standards related to virtual healthcare services, including veterinary telemedicine.
  2. Champion the support and education of pet parents through virtual consultations.
  3. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including establishing virtual VCPR and providing telemedicine services to customers.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed notes and complete consultations and medical records in a timely manner.
  5. Employ sound professional judgment to determine if telemedicine is appropriate and suitable for a patient and, if so, provide telemedicine services, including diagnosing, prescribing, and treatment planning.

Skills

Required

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM, VMD) or equivalent
  • Authorization to practice within the United States
  • Current veterinary license in good standing in at least one state
  • 3+ years of small animal veterinary practice experience or equivalent
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with teleconferencing platforms and veterinary/telemedicine tools
  • Strong typing proficiency for efficient documentation
  • Exemplary listening and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a virtual team-oriented environment
  • Passion for helping people and pets, demonstrated through empathy and exceptional customer service
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, self-starter environment
  • Access to high-speed internet suitable for video streaming
  • A designated, quiet working space free from distractions

Nice to have

  • Virginia or New York license
  • Ability to obtain and maintain additional licensure as required
