Temporary Mechanic Journeyman

Seeking a Temporary Automotive Technician to maintain UPS delivery vehicles, including diesel and gasoline propulsion systems. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and maintaining hydraulic brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls. Requires a driver's license, willingness to work various shifts, and possession of personal hand tools. Experience with diagnostic equipment and scan tools is preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. Meets the D.O.T. requirements required by the job assignment
  2. Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently throughout the duration of the workday
  3. Sits infrequently, as required, throughout the duration of the workday
  4. Exercises simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete assigned tasks
  5. Operates standard and manual transmissions
  6. Operates power and pneumatic tools

Skills

Required

  • Current documented automotive mechanical experience
  • Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and a personal computer
  • Possesses a full complement of personal hand tools
  • Dependable with the ability to report to work on a regular and timely basis and complete scheduled workday consistently
  • Available to work varying shifts, additional hours, and/or overtime depending on service needs
  • Wears personal protective equipment as required
  • Works in an environment with variable temperatures and humidity (climatic conditions), exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, and noise, outside inclement weather, etc.
  • Works cooperatively in a diverse work environment
  • Communicates effectively through sight, hearing, and/or otherwise, to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions

Nice to have

  • Class A/B or A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
