Anduril Industries is a defense technology company developing AI-powered military systems. This role is for a Test and Evaluation Engineering Manager for the Altius UAS platform, focusing on system-level testing of hardware and software, leading a team of test engineers, and ensuring product performance and reliability in defense applications.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead and mentor a team of test engineers, fostering their technical growth and ensuring adherence to best practices.
  2. Oversee the planning and execution of complex test efforts, including task delegation and resource coordination for team members.
  3. Collaborate closely with software engineers and cross functional teams to ensure thorough validation of new software, end-to-end functionality, and bug fixes.
  4. Conduct Software and Surrogate platform testing, including validation and regression tests to ensure new features align with system capabilities and mission objectives.
  5. Analyze data from tests to validate system performance and identify areas for improvement, iterating rapidly to refine hardware implementation and software behaviors.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, robotics, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in software/hardware testing, with a strong emphasis on autonomous or remotely piloted systems
  • Minimum 2 years in a lead or mentoring role for technical teams, or significant project leadership
  • Demonstrated ability in developing and executing test plans for complex systems within aggressive timelines

Nice to have

  • Experience in the development, flight testing, and deployment of unmanned systems in a defense or aerospace context
  • Familiarity with software development practices and experience with programming languages used in autonomy and robotics (e.g., Python, C++, Rust)
  • Hands-on experience with hardware integration in HITL and flight test environments
