Test and Failure Analysis Technician

NVIDIA NVIDIA · Semiconductors · Santa Clara, CA

NVIDIA is seeking a Test and Failure Analysis Technician to work in their Board Level Reliability lab. The role involves setting up functional test hardware and software for various NV products, performing functional validation, developing automation scripts, and conducting electrical and physical failure analysis using techniques like CSAM and X-ray imaging. The technician will analyze failure data, correlate test results, and generate reports with root cause findings. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience with at least 5 years in semiconductor FA, strong understanding of electronics reliability, hands-on FA experience, and basic programming/scripting knowledge for test automation.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work in the Board Level Reliability lab environment and set up functional test hardware and software for various NV products, including large server systems, and perform functional validation for GPU/Tegra products.
  2. Develop and maintain scripts for automated test programs.
  3. Perform mechanical and electrical testing along with Physical Failure Analysis (PFA) to identify failure mechanisms.
  4. Conduct advanced failure analysis using techniques such as CSAM (C-Scan Acoustic Microscopy) and X-ray imaging to detect internal defects, delamination, voids, and structural issues.
  5. Analyze failure data, correlate test results, and generate detailed reports with clear root cause findings.
