Test Automation Engineer

Performs basic product design, testing, and analysis for a project, operating in a team environment. Develops recommendations within guidelines, with work reviewed by supervisors. Creates and maintains technical documentation, develops own capabilities through training and external learning, and contributes to engineering standards and process improvements. Analyzes information, specifies methods and processes, and works within project management plans. Conducts inspections to evaluate quality and integrity, making recommendations for remedial works.

What you'd actually do

  1. Create and maintain technical and/or user documentation to a high standard, and back up files to ensure instant recovery if problems occur.
  2. Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
  3. Contribute to the development of, and implement feasibility testing of, proposed engineering solutions to provide feedback and data to validate the design.
  4. Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the drafting of engineering standards and specifications and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards.
  5. Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them.
