This role is for a Test Engineering Manager on the Google Pixel team, focusing on leading teams to develop and automate testing for Pixel devices and services. The role involves managing test engineering efforts, building automation systems, identifying defects, analyzing complex systems, and guiding teams to ensure the quality of Google's consumer products.

What you'd actually do

  1. Contribute or lead software test engineering efforts from planning, execution and delivery that solves or manage our business objectives.
  2. Lead or develop scalable and reliable automation systems, identify defects and make actionable, develop or adapt the infrastructure/tools for productivity.
  3. Guide, analyze and decompose complex systems to surface root causes, identify patterns that lead to general solutions for broader applications.
  4. Collaborate with teams across Google, working with various cultures, job functions, and backgrounds.
  5. Define goals and guide teams to align with the organization directions, lead through examples, mentor and grow the team.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Nice to have

  • Experience in leading, influencing and engaging with cross-functional teams to shape design and project direction.
  • Experience in building test automation to improve efficiency.
  • Experience in managing wide scope of projects and teams.
  • Experience in Android system components, interfaces, and protocols on mobile devices.
