This is a fixed-term, 23-month contract position for an EHS Intern Engineer at Intel in Ireland. The role focuses on coordinating and managing onsite EHS programs, supporting the EHS management system, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards. Responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, assisting in investigations, performing audits, analyzing EHS data, and managing environmental programs like wastewater and air emissions. The ideal candidate will have an NFQ Level 8 qualification in a core EHS discipline or a related science/engineering field with a postgraduate diploma/MSc in EHS. Preferred qualifications include industrial experience, strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and practical experience with EHS management systems.

What you'd actually do

  1. Coordinate and support site Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs such as: - Hearing conservation - Working at heights - Personal protective equipment (PPE)
  2. Conduct risk assessments to identify workplace hazards and recommend mitigation actions.
  3. Support surveys and assessments associated with the Equipment Sign-Off (ESO) program.
  4. Act as a subject matter resource for assigned EHS programs.
  5. Assist in accident and incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Skills

Required

  • NFQ Level 8 qualification in a core EHS discipline, or a third-level qualification in science, chemical engineering, process engineering, or a related field, plus completion of a postgraduate diploma or MSc in an EHS discipline.

Nice to have

  • 1–2 years of relevant industrial experience in a similar EHS role.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage stakeholders on safety topics.
