Thermal Engineering Technician

NVIDIA is seeking a Thermal Engineering Technician to implement validation, characterization, and instrumentation activities for their products, including AI and Robotics. The role involves conducting thermal design testing, collaborating with multi-functional teams, documenting and validating test methods, and maintaining an engineering lab. Requires an Associate degree or equivalent experience, 2+ years in thermal or mechanical testing, strong problem-solving and organizational skills, and proficiency in computer hardware and operating systems.

What you'd actually do

  1. Conduct testing to characterize thermal designs: build/assemble physical prototypes, attach thermocouples, install and run test workloads
  2. Collaborate with multi-functional teams, follow test plans, collect and summarize data
  3. Document, implement, and validate test methods based on guidance and discussions with team members
  4. Maintain, organize, and improve the usability of an engineering lab
  5. Provide ideas towards our efforts of continuous learning and growth

Skills

Required

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years relevant experience in thermal or mechanical testing
  • Solid problem solving, documentation, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in computer hardware and Windows/Linux operating systems
  • Attention to detail with strong communication skills (written and verbal)

Nice to have

  • Experience working in a lab environment with a strong passion for improving processes
  • Expertise in thermal measurement instrumentation and testing, e.g., thermocouple placement and attach, using automated data acquisition, mechanical assembly
  • Knowledge of Linux command lines
  • Experience using tools such as Dremel, soldering iron, power drill, etc.
