Tier2 Dataops Engineer

This role is for a Tier2 DataOps Engineer responsible for advanced operational support, troubleshooting, and stabilization of data pipelines and data platforms. It acts as a bridge between Tier1 support and engineering (L3) teams, ensuring fast incident resolution, data quality, and system reliability. The role involves deep investigation of incidents, analysis of logs and data pipelines, service restoration, P1/P2 incident coordination, monitoring, anomaly detection, data validation, and collaboration with Data Engineering teams for root cause analysis and permanent fixes. It also supports production releases and ensures proper monitoring and alerting configuration.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform deep investigation of incidents escalated from Tier1
  2. Analyze logs, data pipelines, APIs, and system integrations to identify root causes
  3. Restore service using workarounds or fixes for known/semi-known issues
  4. Coordinate P1/P2 incident response, including bridge calls and stakeholder communication
  5. Monitor data pipelines, jobs, and system health (alerts, dashboards, logs)

Skills

Required

  • Experience in data engineering, with a focus on data pipelines / ETL tools (SnapLogic, DataStage, etc. – or equivalents)
  • Monitoring tools (AppDynamics, Azure Monitor, Grafana, Splunk)
  • Knowledge of SQL and data analysis
  • Significant experience with API integrations and distributed systems
  • Expertise with log analysis and observability
  • Understanding of IT operations, ITSM/ITIL, data governance, metadata management, data quality, and data architecture concepts (ITSM / ServiceNow)

Nice to have

  • Ability to correlate issues across multiple systems
  • Experience in incident prioritization and SLA-driven environments
