What you'd actually do

  1. Design welding fixtures for sub‑assemblies and complex hardware using CAD/CAE tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD, NX)
  2. Understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, welding).
  3. Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure dimensional accuracy.
  4. Develop 3D models, detailed drawings, and BOMs for fixture fabrication.
  5. Incorporate ergonomics, safety, and ease of use into fixture design.
