This role is for a Tool Engineer at Northrop Grumman, focusing on the design, engineering, fabrication, and support of tooling and equipment for aerospace applications. What you'd actually do

  1. Interface with the review team to assure customer satisfaction with the design
  2. Managing projects and coordinating all procurements and fabrication to meet the program cost and schedule requirements
  3. Inspect fabricated support hardware to assure compliance to design
  4. Work alongside the manufacturing team to ensure overall program quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved
  5. Work with internal Customers to concept needed support equipment for new and existing programs

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree (STEM) with 2 years of professional experience OR Master’s degree with 0 years of professional experience (Level 2)
  • Bachelor’s degree (STEM) with 5 years of professional experience OR Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience OR PhD with 1 year of professional experience (Level 3)
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate vendor and equipment capability and ability to perform required tasks to include production of tooling as well as unique aerospace part production
  • Experience with closed form and FE analysis practices
  • NX modeling experience
  • Finite Element Analysis FEA experience

Nice to have

  • Prefer NX, ANSYS and ABAQUS software systems
  • Abaqus preferred
  • Desire, i.e. passion, to build and manufacture support hardware
