Tool Gauge Inspector - Level 3

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Tool and Gauge Inspector - Level 3 to perform quality inspection tasks, including visual and dimensional inspections of piece parts, subassemblies, and final assemblies, as well as tool inspections. The role requires independent work, adherence to procedures, and the use of standard measurement instruments. A Secret security clearance is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform Quality Process Assessments
  2. Perform visual, in-process and final dimensional inspections on tightly tolerance piece parts, subassemblies and final assemblies in the Receiving Quality Control area.
  3. Perform tool inspections on various programs
  4. Performs required inspections in accordance with procedures and planning documentation.
  5. Performs required inspections using standard measurement instruments.

Skills

Required

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
  • Interpret drawings and specifications.
  • GD&T and ANSI Y14.5.
  • Perform certification review on supplier documentation and issue Authorization to Ship (ATS).
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time, walk up and down stairs, climb up ladders, reach into tight spaces, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice to have

  • Familiar with standard Mechanical Inspection techniques and tools.
  • Experience with ISO 9000/AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement/PES techniques.
  • Good computer skills - MS Office, Costpoint, QMIS, ePic, Nautilus.
  • Operate a CMM Using the PCDMIS Software.
  • Familiarity with portable inspection equipment including laser trackers.
  • Self-Starter and ability to work through an issue to closure
  • Operate a forklift and crane.
