What you'd actually do

  1. To work on new tool & process development, ensure the tools meet the product specifications, performance and cosmetics requirements, within the project schedule.
  2. To work closely with Product Designer, Supply Management, Quality & Manufacturing Engineering and other cross-functional teams, to deliver best-in-class parts & products.
  3. Serves as the subject matter expert for the Tooling & Molding aspect.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Polymer Technology or equivalent
  • Foundational knowledge of tooling and molding processes

Nice to have

  • 3 years and above experience in plastic tool design, mold making or injection molding industry
  • Exposure in polymer science, engineering plastics, thermal plastics, liquid silicon rubber
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and scientific molding techniques
  • Experience in leading the process optimization, yield improvement, and implementing best practices
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with a scientific approach
  • Use of engineering tools/techniques such as scientific molding, JMP/MiniTab, Tolerance Analysis, SPC, DOE, and Six Sigma techniques
  • Familiar with 3D modeling/simulation software such as Pro/E, Unigraphics, Moldflow, Moldex3D or other software packages
  • Excellent in written, technical reporting, presentation, and effective cross-functional communication
  • Systematic, analytical & strong troubleshooting skills
  • Able to work independently and have good follow-up discipline
