Boeing is seeking a Tooling Mechanic to support the Tooling & Emergent Operations Team. The role involves sheet metal fabrication, CNC press brake operation, programming, setup, and operation of 3 and 5 axis mills and lathes, and fabrication/maintenance of tooling like jigs and fixtures. Responsibilities include blueprint interpretation, documentation, and use of manual machining equipment. Requires 1+ years of experience in sheet metal, machining, and tool repair/maintenance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Sheet metal/break form, must be able to set up, program, and operate CNC press brake, selecting, installing, and aligning appropriate tooling and adjusting machine parameters (ram/back gauge) to compensate for material spring back, while interpreting complex blueprints and engineering drawings to produce sheet metal parts to precise specifications.
  2. Fabricate, maintain, modify, & install various forms of tooling, such as production assembly jigs, engineering test fixtures, fabrication equipment, etc. in collaboration with engineering design teams, production operations, and production engineering
  3. Develop, prepare and maintain all documentation related to the design, fabrication, and usage of various tooling items and their respective associated calibration equipment
  4. Program, setup, and machine parts on 3 and 5 axis mills, lathes, and live tooling lathes
  5. Utilize manual equipment to fabricate or modify various tooling components
