Tooling Mechanic-quality Inspector

Boeing is seeking a Tooling Mechanic-Quality Inspector to support the Quality Team. Responsibilities include inspecting tool fabrication processes, performing periodic tooling inspections using physical and digital definitions, interpreting data for tooling compliance, utilizing 3D measurement systems, identifying and documenting nonconformances, ensuring parts are assembled per drawings, verifying rework, maintaining FOD requirements, performing proof load tests, and conducting receiving inspections.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform inspection and/or process monitoring of tool fabrication processes, to ensure tools are built per the applicable drawing, specifications and procedures
  2. Perform periodic tooling inspection using both physical and digital definition and interpret data for acceptance of tooling compliance
  3. Utilize and/or interpret 3D measurement and analysis systems and software; such as Laser Trackers
  4. Identify, investigate, and document nonconformance of materials, hardware, tools, tool assemblies or portions thereof, according to specification, processes and procedures utilizing appropriate computing applications
  5. Ensure all parts/assemblies have been assembled per the tool drawing, specification and fabrication order

Skills

Required

  • 1+ years experience as a Quality Inspector
  • 3+ years of experience working in a tool fabrication environment, manufacturing, or fabrication environment.
  • 3+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design)
  • 3+ years of experience using computer aided measuring systems (CAMS).
  • 3+ years of experience operating Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, ETC)
  • High school graduate/GED

Nice to have

  • Technical trade school certificate/degree (Or appropriate apprenticeship completion)
  • 5+ years of experience as an operator of Computer Aided Measurement Systems, Coordinate Measurement Machines, Laser Tracker, Laser Scanners, etc.
  • 5+ years of experience in setting and using precision measuring tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and/or dial indicators

What the JD emphasized

  • ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship
  • An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post-Start is required
