This role is a Trade Compliance Program Manager for AWS Security in the APAC region, focusing on import and export compliance for infrastructure equipment. The role involves building and owning compliance processes, managing stakeholder relations, providing guidance on trade activities, assisting with technology and hardware trade classification, and monitoring regulatory changes. It requires experience with customs and trade compliance, import/export operations, and leveraging technology for process improvements.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build and own core trade compliance processes and analytical rhythms to align with subsidiary and key programs’ objectives
  2. Manage daily tasks related to providing import/export compliance guidance in APAC markets with key focus on Taiwan to support AWS trade activities, including conducting research, updating status reports, and coordinating team deliverables.
  3. Assist with technology, hardware, and software trade classification, including: Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), Schedule B, and Export Control Classification Number (ECCN)
  4. Monitor import/export regulatory or procedural changes that could impact planning for import or related requirements in the APAC region, and clearly communicate those guidelines to stakeholders during the export/import planning process
  5. Build communications and training plans to ensure all internal and external partners are aware and aligned to trade compliance processes
