The Trade Operations Manager, NAM, AWS Compliance & Security Assurance role supports import and export operational compliance across the United States and Canada. The role involves building and maintaining compliance monitoring frameworks, collaborating with various AWS teams, and supporting trade compliance programs. Key responsibilities include identifying process optimization and automation opportunities, building data and reporting standards for trade compliance accuracy, and generating efficiencies through SOP development. The role requires experience in trade and data/automation knowledge, with a focus on cross-functional collaboration and data-driven decision-making.

What you'd actually do

  1. Monitor regulatory changes – Track import/export regulatory updates impacting NAM cross-border requirements and communicate guidelines to stakeholders.
  2. Manage daily compliance operations – Provide import/export compliance guidance, coordinate with customs brokers and third-party providers, and manage team deliverables.
  3. Perform trade classification & tariff analysis – Classify technology, hardware, and software using HTS, Schedule B, and ECCN. Analyze tariffs and support mitigation plans.
  4. Ensure import documentation compliance – Review documents for accuracy, support entry filing, monitor shipment status, and resolve import holds.
  5. Build compliance monitoring frameworks – Develop audit and reporting frameworks, conduct self-assessments, and implement corrective actions.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • 2+ years of data analysis using tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in import/export compliance, with foundational knowledge of U.S. and Canada trade regulations
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams such as engineering, supply chain, or procurement

Nice to have

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience in Trade Compliance and/or Supply Chain, such as customs operations, compliance specialist, or customs agent roles
