Northrop Grumman is seeking a Traffic Administrator to plan, schedule, and route inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments. This role involves working with carriers, reconciling freight bills, preparing claims, and researching transportation methods and rates. The administrator will also develop programs to audit carrier rates and evaluate past transportation performance. The position requires experience with Supply Chain or Traffic or Shipping or Warehousing and familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) applications, with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Plans, schedules, and routes inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments of freight, using knowledge of postal regulations, tariffs, and company policy.
  2. Schedules with carriers, reconciles freight bills, prepares and negotiates claims, and selects or recommends carriers to ensure efficient, timely, and least expensive movement of goods and material.
  3. Conducts research on transportation methods, rates, and routes.
  4. Develops programs to audit and monitor carrier rates and charges and evaluates past performance and cost of transportation.
  5. Accountable for domestic and international traffic operations on site, acting as the escalation path to address issues in program execution related to the GM&L Traffic operations on site, ensuring mitigation plans are developed and executed to address any risks related to GM&L’s execution
