Training and Development Lead

Applied Intuition Applied Intuition · Robotics · Sunnyvale, CA · Vehicle Operations

This role is responsible for building and leading the end-to-end training and development function for operations teams globally. It involves competency analysis, designing learning journeys, creating and deploying curriculum, managing an LMS, developing certification frameworks, evaluating training effectiveness, and managing a team. The ideal candidate has experience in the autonomous vehicle industry or a similar safety-critical domain.

What you'd actually do

  1. Conduct role-by-role competency analyses across all global operations functions to identify knowledge gaps and define what “good” looks like at each career stage
  2. Design learning journeys for each operations role, from onboarding through ongoing professional development, ensuring alignment with business objectives and safety-critical standards
  3. Build, curate, and maintain a scalable curriculum of instructor-led courses, e-learning modules, simulations, hands-on labs, and assessments tailored to ADAS/AD and autonomy operations
  4. Partner with engineering, product, customer success, and field operations leaders to translate technical subject matter into accessible, high-impact training content
  5. Stand up and manage a Learning Management System (LMS) or equivalent platform to deliver, track, and report on training across all global sites

  • Deep expertise in instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM, or similar) and adult learning principles
  • Experience selecting, implementing, and administering LMS platforms and digital learning tools
  • Strong program management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent curriculum builds across geographies
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence technical and non-technical leaders
