The Training Operations Manager at Target's Returns Center is responsible for developing and implementing training content, fostering a safety-first culture, and managing training operations within the building. This role involves overseeing the execution of training at all levels, partnering with headquarters teams, selecting and developing trainers, and analyzing training program performance data. The position requires strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills, with a focus on operational efficiency and team development within a logistics environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. You will foster a “safety first” culture through awareness, training and accountability.
  2. You will quickly establish yourself as an engaging and inclusive leader who will develop and implement training content for your building.
  3. You will also communicate and oversee the execution of training at all levels by building, maintaining strategic partnerships with the entire building and various headquarters partners.
  4. You will foster the development and growth of the team members and leaders in your building.
  5. You will select, evaluate, and develop the Team Member Trainers and Operational Manager Trainers, and ensure that building staffing and training timelines are communicated and met.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability, with ability to engage and motivate others
  • Excellent interpersonal, organization and communication skills with all levels of the organization
  • Good reasoning, conflict-management, and analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to read and interpret necessary policies and procedures to perform updates and operate systems and other programs within the Distribution Center.

Nice to have

  • Four year degree or equivalent experience, preferably in human resources
  • Comfortable with ambiguity
  • Able to access all areas of the Distribution Center, including the ability to traverse conveyor crossovers and reach mezzanine platforms
