Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Training Specialist for their Production/Surgical Robotics team in Santa Clara, California. This role focuses on designing, delivering, and managing technical and soft skills training for manufacturing teams involved with Ottava surgical robotics products. The specialist will assess competency, build curricula, maintain training records, and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards in a regulated manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include developing training materials, executing training plans, evaluating employee competency, maintaining training records in systems like ComplianceWire, and ensuring adherence to standards such as ISO 13485 and OSHA.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design, develop, and deliver technical and soft skills training for manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and assembly (including hands-on sessions and classroom content).
  2. Execute and coordinate training plans for assigned production areas aligned with business goals.
  3. Evaluate employee competency against procedures and standards, identify skill gaps, and recommend appropriate training.
  4. Maintain accurate training records and matrices in systems such as ComplianceWire, ETQ, and Agile PLM.
  5. Partner with people leaders and production management to evaluate training effectiveness and measure improvement.

Skills

Required

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent training certification
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in manufacturing training, instructional design, or related roles
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Familiar with ComplianceWire, ETQ, and Agile PLM
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and training documentation processes
