Transaction Surveillance & Screening (tss) Analyst

Visa is seeking a Transaction Surveillance & Screening (TSS) Analyst in Singapore to perform day-to-day transaction monitoring, identify suspicious activity, and provide support and guidance to TSS Associates. The role focuses on APAC clients, particularly those in or connected to China, and involves reviewing alerts, handling escalations, conducting PEP and sanctions screening, and analyzing transaction data to identify financial crime risks. Fluency in Mandarin and English is essential.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform day‑to‑day Transaction Monitoring, identifying potentially fraudulent, suspicious or illegal activity.
  2. Support monitoring activity relating to APAC clients, with a particular focus on China‑related transactions and client activity.
  3. Act as a point of escalation for TSS Associates, providing guidance and quality oversight on more complex or higher‑risk cases.
  4. Review, challenge and support Associate decision‑making to ensure consistent application of policies and controls.
  5. Proactively escalate material or high‑risk cases to the MLRO/DMLRO where required.

Nice to have

  • Previous experience in Transaction Monitoring, Financial Crime, or Compliance is preferred.
  • Good understanding of, or practical experience with: Anti‑Money Laundering (AML), Economic and financial sanctions, Payments, e‑money and FX services
  • Exposure to APAC markets or China‑related financial crime risk is an advantage.
  • Degree or equivalent in a numerical (e.g. Mathematics, Economics, Statistics) or humanities (e.g. Law, Politics, International Relations) discipline.
  • Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members.
  • Prior experience reviewing escalations or performing quality assurance.
