This role involves the maintenance, setup, configuration, and testing of television transmission and compression systems for Warner Bros. Discovery. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, project participation, quality control of signals, and customer service for various internal divisions and networks. The role requires experience with networking protocols, video standards, and specific compression and networking equipment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Maintenance-This responsibility includes troubleshooting, repair, calibration and preventative maintenance of equipment and systems.
  2. Projects- This responsibility includes participation in the planning, installation and integration of new or replacement equipment and systems.
  3. Quality Control-This responsibility requires the ability to ensure outgoing, and incoming signals and content are at the highest quality possible by applying best of business practices.
  4. Customer Service-This responsibility requires that the Transmission Compression Engineer provide the highest quality of customer service to our primary customers who include Teleport operations, Distribution technology, CNN satellites/SNG, TEN and the TBS networks.

Required

  • Compression Engineering Experience
  • networking/routing protocols
  • UDP, unicast, multicast
  • Video standards related to transport (SD/HDSDI, ASI, IP and other compression formats)
  • AutoCAD and Visio
  • Mpeg encoding systems
  • Cisco, Arris and Harmonic
