The Transport Lead role at Johnson & Johnson (DePuy Synthes) is responsible for managing and optimizing international transportation operations, ensuring timely and compliant delivery of products. What you'd actually do

  1. Lead and manage day‑to‑day transportation operations to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant delivery of products across OUS markets.
  2. Oversee relationships with external logistics and transportation service providers, including performance management and issue resolution.
  3. Monitor transportation performance metrics (service level, cost, quality) and implement corrective actions as needed.
  4. Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and international trade and transport regulations.
  5. Collaborate cross‑functionally with planning, warehousing, customer service, and quality teams to support end‑to‑end supply chain execution.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, Business, or a related field
  • Several years of progressive experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations
  • Proven experience managing transportation providers or third‑party logistics partners
  • Strong knowledge of international transportation, distribution, and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, manage KPIs, and drive performance improvements
  • Experience working in cross‑functional, matrixed environments
  • Fluency in English

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree or MBA
  • Experience within a regulated industry such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare
  • Familiarity with global or regional OUS supply chain operations
  • Experience leading continuous improvement or cost optimization initiatives
  • Knowledge of SAP or comparable enterprise logistics systems
  • Prior experience supporting change or transformation initiatives
  • Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Spanish strongly preferred
  • Logistics or supply chain certifications (e.g., APICS, CILT)
