Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking a Mid-Level or Senior Transportation Analyst – Export and Dangerous Goods Specialist to join their BCA Outbound Operations team in San Antonio, TX. The role involves supporting enterprise transportation and logistics, solving logistics issues, and ensuring compliance with export and dangerous goods regulations. Responsibilities include interpreting policies, preparing documentation, performing freight transactions, collecting and analyzing data, and interfacing with compliance organizations.

What you'd actually do

  1. Performs International Export freight transactions in accordance with Federal and Regulatory agency guidelines, including Aircraft Export deliveries, acting as a site Export Subject Matter Expert
  2. Reviews and interprets Dangerous Goods Federal and Regulatory agency guidelines, including CFR49, IATA and ICAO/IMDG
  3. Performs Dangerous Goods (domestic and international) freight transactions in accordance with regulations; prepares, plans, classifies and creates shipping papers for DG shipments by all modes of transportation, acting as a site DG Subject Matter Expert
  4. Collects and analyzes data and information from multiple sources in support of transportation and logistics business initiatives
  5. Interfaces with internal/external compliance organizations and responds to Customs and Border Protection inquiries for export control issues to ensure compliance with Export Regulations, Federal Regulations, Foreign Trade Regulations and the Boeing Compliance Offices

Skills

Required

  • 3+ years of experience working in logistics or transportation
  • 3+ years of experience communicating with senior managers and executives, customers (internal and external), business partners / suppliers / subcontractors, and government representatives
  • 3+ years of experience with multi-tasking and working in a team environment
  • 3+ years of experience in a role that required strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • 3+ years of experience using all the following Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Nice to have

  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of experience in export shipment processing and compliance
  • 3+ years of experience with documentation and certification requirements of dangerous goods in transportation
  • 3+ years of experience with freight forwarding and/or transportation modes: Full Truck Load (FTL), Less than Truck Load (LTL), International and Domestic Air Freight, Ocean, Small Parcel
  • 3+ years of experience in transportation management, data analytics, route planning, resolving problems, and providing a high-level of customer service
