Treasury Product Associate - Payments

Bank of America Bank of America · Banking · New York, NY

This role is an analytics and risk-management position within a product team focused on US Payments, specifically Real-Time Payments (RTP). The associate will be responsible for market monitoring, translating findings into insights, building business cases, capturing client feedback, supporting requirements documentation, and developing performance dashboards and risk routines. The role emphasizes strong analytical skills, self-management, attention to detail, and a risk-management mindset within a regulated environment. While AI tools may be used for acceleration, the core function is product analysis and risk management, not AI/ML development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own a repeatable competitive and market monitoring cadence for B2B and B2C payments (RTP and adjacent rails), combining external research with internal partner inputs (Emerging Payments, Retail, Card, Trade, GWIM, Markets, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Technology) and data analytics.
  2. Translate findings into crisp, executive-ready visual insights: where we are winning/losing, what is changing, and what it means for growth, client experience, and risk posture.
  3. Build and maintain business cases (volume, revenue, cost, loss/risk assumptions) that support prioritization decisions and measure realized outcomes over time.
  4. Run structured “voice of client” capture (inputs, themes, quantified pain points) and connect it to performance and risk data to inform product discussions.
  5. Support requirements and controls documentation by translating business needs, data findings, and risk considerations into clear problem statements, acceptance criteria, and operational readiness artifacts.
