Trial Attorney (remote - Massachusetts)

This role is for a Trial Attorney at Allstate, focusing on legal defense for insured individuals and the company. Responsibilities include handling lawsuits, arbitrations, mediations, and providing counsel to business clients. The role requires a Juris Doctorate, active Massachusetts bar membership, and litigation experience. It does not involve AI/ML development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Represents insured individuals and the Company in the defense of bodily injury and property damage lawsuits, subrogation litigation, and uninsured/underinsured motorist cases.
  2. Review new file assignments, all documentary evidence and approve initial pleadings, propounds discovery, and develop strategy
  3. Manage all aspects of PIP/no-fault litigation from case inception through resolution including case evaluation, discovery, motion practice, arbitrations, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
  4. Investigate and pursue subrogation litigation, as appropriate
  5. Conduct settlements/dispositive proceedings (e.g., mediations, arbitrations, etc.)

Skills

Required

  • Juris Doctorate
  • active membership in good standing with the Massachusetts state bar
  • 1+ years of litigation experience, within Subrogation, Insurance Defense, or related fields
  • Demonstrates strong time management skills
  • Capable of organizing case files, managing legal documents, and understanding the discovery process
  • Skilled in communicating with clients, preparing summaries, and maintaining records of interactions
  • Well-versed in legal ethics and the standards of professional conduct
  • Equipped with fundamental negotiation techniques and strategies for client interactions and settlement discussions
