This role involves piloting autonomous semi-trucks for testing and providing real-time feedback to engineers to improve the self-driving technology. It requires commercial driving experience, a Class A CDL, and the ability to monitor the autonomous system during operation.

What you'd actually do

  1. Safely pilot autonomous semi trucks for on road and closed course testing in service of our development and commercial pilot operations
  2. Remain alert and attentive while monitoring the Aurora Driver during extended stretches of autonomy
  3. Log real time feedback regarding autonomy and platform performance during testing, to be delivered to engineers
  4. Escalate operational blockers with suggested solutions
  5. Collaborate cross-functionally with teams throughout Aurora to help drive progress on Aurora’s mission

Skills

Required

  • Commercial truck driving experience
  • Class A Commercial Driver's License
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License
  • Ability to pass MVR checks
  • Ability to pass drug testing
  • Ability to pass DOT physical

What the JD emphasized

  • Minimum 3 years of experience driving trucks commercially
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License
  • Interstate Class-A Commercial Driver's License
  • Driving record must pass Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) guidelines
  • Must pass pre-employment, post-incident, and randomized drug testing in accordance with FMCSA requirements.
