This role focuses on engaging with the U.S. federal government, including the White House and executive branch agencies, to shape policy and regulatory frameworks related to AI development and deployment. The lead will track and analyze executive actions, prepare policy briefs, and collaborate with internal teams to inform policymakers about AI-related issues.

What you'd actually do

  1. Assist in the development and implementation of a comprehensive federal government engagement strategy focused on artificial intelligence policy and regulation.
  2. Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within the White House, the Executive Office of the President, and federal agencies.
  3. Represent OpenAI in meetings with administration officials, policymakers, and other stakeholders on behalf of OpenAI.
  4. Track and analyze federal executive actions and regulatory developments impacting AI.
  5. Collaborate with internal teams, including legal, technical teams, research, and communications, to prepare policy briefs, position papers, and responses to government inquiries on AI-related issues.
