This role leads the development and execution of Walmart’s global renewable energy origination strategy, securing long-term partnerships and power purchase agreements to enable affordable clean energy and strengthen the grid. The position drives capital deployment into offsite renewable projects that deliver economic value and emissions reductions while managing a high-performing team. It requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory engagement, to support sustainable energy initiatives.

  4. Pioneer innovative deal structures and emerging technologies to unlock new energy solutions at scale
  5. Build and lead a high-performing team while collaborating cross-functionally to drive measurable impact

Skills

Required

  • Proven expertise in negotiating and executing long-term renewable energy agreements and strategic partnerships.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience building and managing high-performing teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of energy analysis and carbon footprint reduction strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement project management plans aligned with corporate sustainability goals.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory and policy environments.
  • Ability to drive business strategies that balance economic value with environmental impact.
  • Experience collaborating across functions to advance decarbonization and renewable energy initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or related field OR 7 years' experience in Finance, Business or related area.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in the renewable energy industry

Nice to have

  • 5+ years of experience in the energy industry leading teams focused on origination, development, and/or capital formation for renewable energy projects.
  • Demonstrable track record of commercializing or executing investments in renewable energy projects and/or securing partnerships in support of such activities.
  • In-depth understanding of both competitive and regulated energy markets.
  • Master's degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
