Role summary: The Senior Software Engineer will lead the delivery of scoped features and models through collaborative teams, ensuring alignment with platform and business objectives. About the team: The Pricing Store Execution team delivers scalable, reliable solutions that enable accurate price publication across all Walmart stores. Handling millions of price updates daily, the team ensures precision and speed, directly enhancing the in-store customer experience. Collaborating across functions, members design and maintain high-throughput systems, APIs, and data pipelines that meet strict reliability and latency requirements. The team applies expertise in distributed systems, real-time processing, and fault-tolerant architecture, embracing continuous integration and iterative development. Focused on technical ownership and operational excellence, the team ensures the right price reaches the right place at the right time consistently. What you'll do:
- Own feature and model delivery through engineering teams, managing implementation, iteration, testing, and support.
- Write clean, efficient, and reliable code across multiple languages, driving software development lifecycle including CI/CD and automated testing.
- Integrate AI/ML components and leverage generative AI tools to enhance software intelligence and development velocity.
- Assist in design, evaluating trade-offs and ensuring scalable, secure, and maintainable systems aligned with standards.
- Conduct code reviews, debugging, and defect management to maintain high-quality software.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into requirements and outcomes.
- Monitor application performance and ensure adherence to project milestones through program management.
- Mentor peers and contribute to improvement and innovation within engineering teams.
What you'll bring:
- Extensive experience in software development with proficiency in languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, Rust, Dart, and C++.
- Strong expertise in object-oriented programming, documentation-based coding, and modular software design.
- Proven ability to deliver scoped features and models through collaborative, iterative development and continuous integration practices.
- Skilled in code review, debugging, and automated testing to ensure high-quality, reliable software.
- Experience integrating AI/ML components and leveraging generative AI tools to enhance efficiency.
- Demonstrated technical judgment in designing scalable, secure, and maintainable systems aligned with business goals.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills to engage cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
