Senior Software Engineer for Content Apps team at Walmart, responsible for designing, developing, and delivering scalable software solutions. This role involves full software development lifecycle, including API development, cloud deployment, CI/CD, automated testing, and mentoring. Focus is on creating efficient and engaging tools for internal customers and partners within the VIZIO ecosystem.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build services that are integration points for mission-critical third-party partners.
  2. Design and implement containerized APIs deployed to the cloud.
  3. Write efficient and reliable code across multiple languages (ex. Go, python, SQL, Terraform, etc.)
  4. Contribute throughout the software development lifecycle including CI/CD and automated testing.
  5. Assist in solution design, participate in design reviews, and ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable systems.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA, BS, or MS in Computer Science) or equivalent experience, and 5 years of development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in a strongly-typed language and familiarity with javascript.
  • Experience in code reviews, debugging, and delivering maintainable, scalable, and secure software components to a major cloud provider (AWS,GCP, Azure).
  • Experience working with relational databases.
  • Experience with containers and infrastructure-as-code (IaC, Terraform).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation scripting.
  • Excellent communications skills: must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and able to adapt to the level and nature of the audience.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
