Walmart Walmart · Retail · Bentonville, AR +1

Staff Application Security Engineer focused on developing and implementing security strategies for AI-assisted development within an enterprise environment. This role involves establishing architecture patterns, championing AI security controls, assessing risks of AI code contributions, and pre-training/fine-tuning enterprise AI coding agents on secure patterns.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop Application Security strategy for AI‑assisted development across SDLC and CI/CD.
  2. Establish architecture patterns for safe use of AI coding assistants (IDE, CLI, PR bots) including data‑handling and model interaction boundaries.
  3. Champion AI security controls that are developer‑first, fast, and low‑friction, while ensuring enterprise policy adherence. Quantify defect rates and risk between human vs. AI‑generated changes.
  4. Assess risks of AI code contributions and codify automated checks.
  5. Pre‑train and fine‑tune enterprise AI coding agents on secure patterns, org policies, and vetted libraries to minimize insecure suggestions.
