This role is for a General Facilities Maintenance Technician at Walmart. Responsibilities include performing routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on facilities, equipment, and fixtures using various craft skills such as plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. The technician will use a work order management system, respond to emergency calls, and ensure safe operation of equipment. A vocational or technical certification and 1 year of experience in a relevant trade, or 2 years of general work experience, is required. A valid driver's license and clean driving record are also necessary.

What you'd actually do

  1. Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets by utilizing multiple craft skills (for example, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment) and using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs
  2. Utilize the work order management system to receive reactive repair Work Orders to support Stores and Store associates and document repair activities
  3. Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls
  4. Inspecting, operating, or testing facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues
  5. Complete all required training requirements to operate equipment and tools safely

Skills

Required

  • Vocational or Technical certification
  • 1 year experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to move up and down ladders frequently
  • Comfortable working at heights frequently
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Able to work in various temperatures

Nice to have

  • 2 years total work experience in a relevant trade

What the JD emphasized
