Boeing is seeking an experienced or lead engineer to join their Mission Systems team in Tukwila, WA, focusing on the USAF E-7A aircraft's Radar and Electronic Warfare Self-Protection (EWSP) capabilities. The role involves subsystem equipment management, procurement, integration, testing, validation, requirements development, supplier management, problem-solving during production, and onsite support for integration activities. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or science field, 3+ years of experience in avionics or electronics systems integration, and the ability to obtain a US Top Secret security clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as a subsystem Equipment Manager for part of the aircraft mission system, including responsibility for procurement and integration activities.
  2. Plan and execute testing and validation to ensure that system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
  3. Work with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.
  4. Manage supplier technical relationships with both external (commercial and government) and internal suppliers.
  5. Solve problems that emerge during test and production of the aircraft.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 3+ years related technical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years experience in avionics, communication equipment or other electronics systems integration or development
  • 3+ years experience working across cross-functional or cross-organizational teams to develop and implement plans, schedules, or solutions
  • 3+ years experience with developing, managing and working with complex system requirements.
  • ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.
  • An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required

Nice to have

  • 5+ years related technical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience working as an avionics or electronics equipment manager or working with the FAA to qualify equipment
  • Hardware qualification or laboratory test experience
  • Experience working with the United States Department of Defense (DOD) or foreign armed services as a customer
  • Active Secret or Top Secret clearance.
