This role is for a Utilities / Medium Voltage Electrician / Instrumentation at Eli Lilly, responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical and instrumentation equipment within utility systems. The position involves preventative and corrective maintenance on high and low voltage electrical equipment, process instrumentation, and ensuring compliance with safety and cGMP standards. It requires strong electrical and mechanical aptitude, with experience in utility systems and troubleshooting being preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on high and low voltage electrical equipment (13.8KV main switch gear, circuit breakers, relays, motor starters, ground fault interrupts)
  2. Perform preventive maintenance on complex electrical equipment (motor control centers, variable-speed drives, programmable logic controllers, etc.)
  3. Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical equipment problems and make appropriate repairs to minimize downtime.
  4. Perform modifications and new installations of electrical equipment (e.g., conduit, conductors, lighting, branch circuits, etc.).
  5. Diagnose complex electrical problems to effect repairs and restore equipment/systems to operating condition.

Skills

Required

  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude
  • Basic instrumentation/electrical skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical circuits and equipment
  • Qualified to work in the United States
  • Ability to withstand temperature variations
  • Capable of lifting 40 lbs.

Nice to have

  • Experience with utility systems – HPW, chillers, steam, compressed air, water/sewer, electrical distribution.
  • Associate degree in Electronics Technology, electrical license, or equivalent instrumentation/electrical work experience
  • Experience troubleshooting and new installation of various instrumentations
  • Experience maintaining circuit breakers, relays, medium voltage switchgear, motor starters.
  • Experience with a CMMS (e.g., GMARS), or similar work order tracking system
  • Document work using good documentation practices
  • Proficiency in basic use of Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, Excel)
