Manage a team of validation engineers responsible for testing and qualifying servers, storage devices, and specialized machine learning hardware for Google's data centers. Develop and implement test methodologies and tools to improve product quality and testing efficiency. Ensure hardware meets Google's standards of quality and reliability.

What you'd actually do

  1. Guide a team of individuals, and set and communicate individual and team priorities that support organizational goals. Meet regularly with individuals to discuss performance and development, and provide feedback and coaching.
  2. Develop and implement test methodologies and tools to improve product quality, testing efficiency, and validation processes across the organization.
  3. Qualify servers, storage devices, and specialized machine learning hardware for Google’s data centers.
  4. Conduct audits of validation or performance qualification processes to ensure compliance with internal or regulatory requirements.
  5. Support testing and product improvement by adapting and implementing tests developed by test engineers.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience leading or managing a team.
  • 8 years of experience in data center testing, planning, execution, or reporting.

Nice to have

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in working cross-functionally across multiple domains and products.
  • Experience delivering product verification and validation testing across multiple product lines.
  • Experience with leadership.
  • Experience scripting and automating various test plans.
  • Experience discovering systemic issues and debugging.
