This role focuses on quantifying and articulating the business value of OpenAI's AI technology for enterprise, education, and government customers. The Value Engineer will build financial and operational business cases, develop repeatable frameworks, ROI models, and value narratives, and establish metrics to track and communicate AI's impact. The goal is to support customer adoption, investment decisions, renewals, and expansion by demonstrating tangible outcomes from AI.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead business value assessments for our largest deals, working closely with customers to identify key business drivers and quantify the value of OpenAI’s products to support investment decisions
  2. Build and maintain standardized ROI, TCO, and value modeling tools for internal and customer use.
  3. Lead structured value discovery to identify high-impact use cases and define measurable outcomes.
  4. Publish executive-ready business cases that quantify results and strengthen relationships with C-level stakeholders.
  5. Codify value frameworks, methodologies, and reusable assets that scale value-based selling across the global GTM organization.
